Cultivating a Hockey Community in the Mid-South.

In most places, hockey means frozen lakes, packed rinks, and a short drive to practice. Here in the Mid-South, it sometimes means a road trip, a thermos of coffee, and a GPS that’s starting to ask questions. Families are often stuck choosing between marathon commutes for ice time or hanging up the skates altogether—and let’s be honest, neither option belongs in a highlight reel.

That’s where we come in. Founded in 2022, the Mid-South Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA) is on a mission to prove that hockey isn’t just for the “traditional” markets—it’s for anyone willing to lace up, even if the nearest snowstorm is a rumor. We’re building something special from the ice up, creating opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels while growing the game in a place where hockey might raise a few eyebrows—but also a lot of excitement.
